There are definitely days when I feel like this is impossible. Between getting dressed, diaper changes, feedings, meals, playing, bathing, cleaning, and spit-up it almost seems a fairytale. Once upon a time there was a girl who had time to get dressed and do her makeup....

Hahaha! I know how much feeling pretty affects my mood and so sometimes I just have to strive to do my best. I like getting dressed up. I like having somewhere to go that's not a grocery store. And for those occasions you need something to wear. If you wear white it's gonna get black, and if you wear black it's gonna get white. But after you have your clothes picked out you still need to finish the look...

I have. Too many times. I waited until my first daughter was a little older before I really started wearing jewelry again and she broke like half my collection. It is so sad. So, I pretty much never get to wear a perfectly cute outfit unless I'm feeling brave and willing to risk losing a favorite piece of jewelry... or an ear.

Usually my babies try to chew on me when they are teething. They grab my fingers to gnaw on, or my arms, or anything else they can get those gums on. That's why I love this necklace. It is chew-able. It is actually kind of soft. It reminds me of the same stuff the bottle nipples are made from. It is perfect for them to mash their gums on while teething. It really is like a soft teething toy that looks more like a fashion statement. It is great for relieving the pain associated with those baby teeth popping through the gums. 

And when my baby isn't teething it's still a great accessory! She has a tendency to grab my hair and pull on it and play with it. OUCH! It hurts so much. And my hair is definitely not something I want in her mouth. Gross. For both of us. That or she's clawing at my face. The Sweet Pea Necklace is the perfect distraction though. I chose the bright blue, not just because it's a gorgeous color, but also because it catches her little eyes. She likes to play with it instead of me. Thank goodness!

The necklace is the perfect length. It's just at her eye-level. She can play with it while I'm holding her in my arms, while she's sitting on my lap, during feedings, or while she's in the carrier against my chest. Usually while she's nursing her hands are wandering and try to pinch and grab anything they can. OUCH again! This helps to keep her curiously busy hands occupied. You can adjust the length if you'd like it shorter though. The "chain" is like a soft and silky rope. It doesn't irritate your neck at all. And it will withstand lots and lots of playtime. 

They even thought ahead when they made the clasp. It features a break-away safety clasp just in case your baby gets too aggressive with your neck. I wondered if it would fall off all of the time, but it doesn't. I can wear it all day without it falling off. She can tug and tug and it stays in place. I've tested its strength and it's the perfect amount of tightness for the clasp.

I even wore it to my sister in-law's wedding! She had assigned the sisters to wear all black and accent with a turquoise necklace. I searched and searched and searched for a necklace that would work. No luck. But then I remembered I had this little gem. I pulled it out and it was the exact shade I was looking for. Plus, it would be safe to wear ALL DAY with a baby in my arms. Everyone loved it! Nobody could even tell it was a toy for my daughter. They were all super shocked when I told them what it was. Sneaky sneaky. 

I love that I have something she can play with that I don't have to worry about falling on the ground. I am slightly paranoid about germs and freak out when her toys touch the ground. Fecal matter is everywhere! But that's another topic for a different day. And  you can wash this necklace anytime you feel it needs to be cleaned! (angels singing)
